Welcome to Ball AI, including the Ball AI mobile application, Ball AI Teams, related websites, and other products and services we operate (collectively, the "Services"). The Services are developed and operated by Automatic AI, Inc. ("Ball AI," "we," "us," or "our"). This Privacy Policy explains how we collect, use, access, disclose, store, and protect your information, including your videos and other training data.

2. Consent

By accessing or using the Services, you agree to this Privacy Policy. If you do not agree, please discontinue use of the Services. Additional notices may appear in the app when the Services request device permissions. Those notices supplement, and do not replace, this Privacy Policy.

3. Information Collection

We collect the following types of information to operate, personalize, and improve the Services:

Profile Information

  • Collected to create your account, personalize experience, and support reports:
  • Name
  • Email address
  • Date of birth (DOB)
  • Gender
  • Location
  • Device type and OS version (iOS, watchOS)
  • Weight, height, shooting hand
  • Level of play, position

Team and Coach Data

  • Collected for team management functionality:
  • Coach name, email, and role
  • Team name and rosters
  • Assigned workouts and performance goals
  • Notes or feedback shared with players

Video, Audio, Images, and User Content

  • When you use camera, recording, upload, or similar features, we collect User Content, which may include:
  • Videos you record in the app
  • Videos, photos, and other media you upload or import from your device
  • Audio captured while using the Services
  • Related files and information associated with your recordings
  • People, surroundings, voices, and other information visible or audible in a recording may be captured. Do not record others without all required consents.

Performance Data

  • Collected from interactions with Apple Watch or iPhone to track basketball performance:
  • Motion sensor data
  • Heart rate
  • Calories burned
  • Distance traveled
  • Time spent working out
  • Workout type (e.g. basketball)
  • Basketball-specific metrics (e.g. shot force, release angle)

Usage Data

  • Collected to understand app behavior and improve features:
  • In-app behavior and preferences
  • Frequency and duration of app usage

Analytics Data

  • Collected for internal performance monitoring:
  • Firebase Analytics: Tracks usage patterns to improve user experience
  • App Store Analytics: Tracks acquisition and retention trends

4. Use of Information

We use collected information, including videos and other User Content, for the following purposes:

  • To provide, operate, maintain, and improve the Services, including personalized performance reports and coaching feedback
  • To store and play back your workout videos and related content
  • To analyze your videos and other data in order to operate the Services and provide training feedback
  • To generate team-level insights and analytics
  • To facilitate team management by coaches, including allowing authorized coaches and team staff to view player videos, stats, and feedback where those features apply
  • To support communication between coaches and athletes
  • To provide customer support, troubleshoot issues, and protect the safety and integrity of the Services
  • To send notifications or updates regarding the app and user accounts
  • To analyze usage trends and optimize product functionality
  • To enforce our terms and comply with law

5. Our Access to Your Videos and Data

You understand and agree that Automatic AI, Inc. has access to the videos, audio, images, workout recordings, performance data, profile information, and other content you submit or that we generate from your use of the Services.

This access is not limited to automated processing. Our employees, contractors, and other authorized personnel may access, view, and process this material when they have a business need to do so.

We may access your videos and data to:

  • Operate and provide the Services
  • Provide coaching, training feedback, and related features
  • Provide customer support and address technical issues
  • Improve the Services
  • Protect safety, investigate misuse, and enforce our terms
  • Comply with legal obligations
  • Carry out the other purposes described in this Privacy Policy

6. Sharing of Information

We may share your information, including videos and other User Content, in the following situations:

  • Within-Team Sharing: Player performance data, profile information, and workout videos may be shared with coaches and team members, based on account role and access level.
  • Service Providers: With trusted third-party vendors that process information on our behalf as needed to operate the Services.
  • Legal Compliance: When required by law or government authorities.
  • Business Transfers: In the event of a merger, acquisition, or sale of company assets.
  • With Your Direction: When you choose to share or otherwise make content available.

7. Data Security

We implement reasonable physical, technical, and administrative measures to safeguard your data. Access by our personnel is limited to those with a business need, and player data shared in Ball AI Teams is also limited by role so that it is viewable by authorized coaches or team staff. However, no method of transmission or storage is 100% secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

8. International Users

The Services are operated in the United States. If you access the Services from outside the U.S., your information, including videos, will be transferred to and processed in the U.S. in accordance with this Privacy Policy.

9. Changes to This Policy

We may update this Privacy Policy periodically. All changes will be posted on this page, and we will notify users of any material updates.

11. Your Consent

The Services are not intended for use by children under 13 without verifiable parental consent. If a parent or guardian permits a child to use the Services, that consent includes our collection and access to the child's videos, audio, and training data as described in this Privacy Policy. If we discover that we have collected personal information from a child without proper authorization, we will take steps to delete it promptly.

13. Data Retention

We retain personal data, team data, videos, audio, and other User Content for as long as necessary to provide the Services, improve our products, comply with legal obligations, resolve disputes, and enforce our agreements. Users may request deletion of their data by contacting us at support@ballai.app. Coaches may remove players or teams from their dashboards, which does not necessarily delete underlying records we retain as described above.
